The leak detection label is applied to the outside of modified atmosphere packaged foods (containing CO₂) and gives a visual indication if a leak is present in the packaging.

 

The label is a useful tool for identifying pin hole (very small) leakers and can be used to confirm packaging integrity.

The leak detection label is only suitable for certain barrier lidding films and must be tested to confirm its suitability.
